Jessie upgrade

A bunch of stuff broke after the upgrade to Jessie, specifically after the upgrade to Apache 2.4, mostly because of permission errors.

Known problems

• ikiwiki / ikiwiki-hosting patchesm, see wiki
• apache 2.4 migration - should be done
  • http://src.anarc.at/
  • http://munin.anarc.at/
  • http://orangeseeds.org/
• monkeysphere failed to upgrade, see Debian bug #737494 - there was a permission problem, worked around
• calibre stopped detecting my Sony PRS-T2 (upstream bug) - running udisks --dump seems to workaround the problem? haven't seen that anymore

Todo remaining

• upgrade to emacs 24 done
• a bunch of packages are orphaned: make inventory and lobby for fix, cleanup see list below
• ssl was fixed up during the upgrade, however, and we now have a proper certificate, although not signed by the cartel, see ssl for a todo.
• note: code { whitespace:pre-wrap; } would be nice for triple-quotes markers, need to file a bug
• check if liquidsoap crashes are resolved, see radio this was too dangerous (played a whole weekend full blast while i was gone): i just turned it off
• migrate to systemd: all done
  • apache failed to start because nginx wasn't disabled, fixed with service nginx disable *transmission fails to start because of a bug in the packge: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=718624 fixed!
  • otherwise everything is smooth and fast, see the Arch wiki and the helpful #debian-systemd folks

Missing packages

The following packages are missing from jessie:

• xastir - Debian bug #733383: FTBFS on amd64 fixed
• ghc-mod - Debian bug #714458, out of date on sparc fixed
• gphoto2 - Debian bug #726370: freeze on the Nikon D300! - need to try experimental
• tahoe-lafs - Debian bug #735940: Sourceless file fixed
• liquidsoap (and friends) - Debian bug #727044: Could not load plugin - the bug is fixed in sid, waiting for migration bug fixed! upgraded! let's see if it crashes now...
• mcdp (CD player) - Debian bug #709909: removed from debian by the maintainer - package removed
• bitcoin - Debian bug #718272: debate about upstream's stability - migrated to electrum
• gnu-fdisk - Debian bug #504099: destroys GPT MBRs, seems stalled - package removed, use parted
• semanticscuttle - Debian bug #659390: config.default.php not found - orphaned the package and switched to bookie
